Pastor Ming Pastor Carl B Ming

My brother and my sister, we need to keep before us the example of Christ's perfection. In our endeavor to represent the truth for this time to the world, we shall meet with many difficulties, but, if we keep the heart and mind fixed upon the precious Savior, if we talk of his love and power, the perplexities will pass away, and we shall become happy in the assurance of a Savior's love. We must obtain that measure of the grace of Christ that will enable us to dwell together in love and unity in this life, else we can never dwell together in the life to come. We are God's children, by Spiritual adoption we become His sons and daughters, living in conformity to His will to represent Him in life and character. Do not allow anytghing too turn you aside from the path of self-denial. Let us aim at perfect conformity to the will of God which leads to eternal life. So in the exhortation of Paul, "Let us press on towards the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ" (Phil.3:13,14 ASV).

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. (Heb 10:36, KJV)

A patient person is mild, gentle, and constant in all circumstances. The real test of patience is not in the waiting but in how one behaves while waiting. If we be patient at home, with those who are always "in our face," then we likely will be patient with others as well. The trials of life are God's workmen, to remove the impurities and roughness from our character. Their hewing, squaring and chiseling, their burnishing and polishing, is a painful process; it is hard to be pressed down to the grinding wheel. But the stone is brought forth prepared to fit its place in the heavenly temple. Life here often isn't fun, but we are given this wonderful promise: "Being confident of this very thing, that He which began a good work in you will perform it until their day of Jesus Christ" (Phil. 1:6).

PRAYER EMPHASIS

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt. 5:48.

God requires moral perfection in all. Those who have been given light and opportunities should, as God's stewards, aim for perfection, and never, never lower the standard of righteousness to accommodate inherent and cultivated tendencies to wrong. Christ took upon Him our human nature, and lived our life, to show us that we may be like Him by partaking of the divine nature. We may be holy, as Christ was holy in human nature. It is the fragrance of our love to our fellowmen that reveals our love to God. It is patience in sertvice that brings rest to the soul. God upholds and strengthens the one who is willing to learn Christ's way.

WE ALL NEED A TREE

I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence.

On arriving he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked to the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

"Oh, that's my trouble tree", he replied, "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children... So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again."

"Funny thing is," he smiled, "When I come out in the morning to pick them up, there aren't as many as I remember hanging up the night before."

God Bless,

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

THE SILENT SERMON

A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going.. After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him.

It was a chilly evening.. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his pastor's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.

The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, 'Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the firey sermon. I will be back in church next week'.

We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.

Thy rod and Thy staff comfort me -----that's Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies----- -that's Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil ----- that's Consecration!

My cup runneth over ----- that's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life----that' s Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord -----that's Security!

    Forever ----- that's Eternity!

Face it, God is crazy about you!
